HOT MOMMA FRENCH BREAD
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cups Warm Water
- 2 ¼ tsp Yeast
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 ½ tsp Salt
- 1 ½ tsp Olive Oil
- 4 cups Bread Flour
- ¼ Cup Hot Momma Seasoning, any flavor
- 1 Tbsp Cornmeal
- Egg Wash (1 egg mixed with 1 Tbsp water)
DIRECTIONS
Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in mixing bowl. Stir and let stand for a few minutes until it starts to bubble and foam. Add oil, Hot Momma and salt. Mix and add to flour gradually. Add enough that the dough comes away from the sides of the bowl. Mix with the dough hook for 6-8 minutes. Cover and let dough rise until doubled about 30 minutes. Punch down and divide into 2 loaves. Gently roll until stretched 10 inches long. Pinch the ends. Place parchment paper on baking sheet. Sprinkle cornmeal on parchment paper. Place the 2 loaves on cornmeal. Do not let them touch. Cover and let rise for about an hour. Brush the loaves with the egg wash. Take a knife and make a long cut down the center of the loaves to allow the dough to spread. Bake at 375* for 25-30 minutes until the loaves are golden brown and hollow sound when thumped. Remove from oven and brush with butter. Let cool 3 hours. Salsalenté!
